It's the 1960s and Alice and Kurt are a normal couple living their ideal lives until one night when a mysterious man in black invades their home and takes them away. When Kurt forces the car off the road to save them he discovers their abductor's head severed with wires and tubes coming out of it. As they desperately try to make it back home they encounter a strange factory while an unseen aircraft broadcasts promises of salvation.

This book is a thrilling adventure that gave me Twilight Zone vibes. I really enjoyed how action-packed it was with twists around every turn. Kurt and Alice's faith and devotion to each other is the heart of the novel while moral unease is the meat. The book is packed with nostalgic things that will appeal to many generations.

It is a great novel for fans of those old sci-fi shows (think Star Trek and Outer Limits). This novel asks what people will do to survive when the rules of the world stop applying, and certainly gets your brain thinking. It is a story of survival, love, and humanity.
