Review: 5/5 ⭐ | Gilraen Returns

Updated: May 30, 2022

Gilraen Returns: Gilraen and the Doom of the Adjudicators was more excellent science fiction from the superbly creative mind of Joanne Reid. The details and building of character interaction along with the extensive building of the land of Jaralli.

As the main character comes back to the epic fantasy game land; going from a man back to an elve queen. As book four of the series begins we see many of the relationships realign . Gilraen comes together once again with other elves, orcs, dwarves, as well as Prince William and King Richard.

The reader sees an intricate preparation for a large battle with Lord Beckworth and the Adjudicars. With a turn at every corner we are taken on another fantastic journey with quite a few changes that occur. For instance a new king is crowned in William and the continuing bond of love with Gilraen continues.

After reading Gilraen Returns as well as the first three books in the series I am amazed at the details of these intertwined stories. There are lots of questions left to answer still; so I'm very much looking forward to book five. At times book four seemed a little slow but then I had to say to myself how vast the characters, creatures, and lands of Jaralii are. Definitely not a stand alone book, so if you haven't read the first trilogy I would recommend doing so.
