A truly inspirational book written about a woman married to an alcoholic. Married young after an unplanned pregnancy in her senior year in high school the author tells her tale of struggles being married to an alcoholic as well as healing from the relationship.
I like how the author drew from her journals, poetry, letters, and memories to give the reader this personal account. I also really enjoyed the emphasis on how important a strong personal support system is to someone going through this kind of turmoil in their life. She had support from a close friend and religious confidant as well as support from the Wakonda Prayer House and Alcoholics Anonymous
The book is very well written and is a great inspiration and motivator for anyone who finds themselves in a similar situation concerning dealing with a loved one who struggles with any kind of addiction. It takes a lot for someone to bare their life to the world and this is a kind gift to others who struggle within an addictive situation.
